The SILOTOP polyTUBETM silo top filter is a useful addition to WAM’s already extensive portfolio of dedusting filters. It combines the advantages of a large usable area through optimum space utilization with improved cleaning. The solution is a filter element with a so-called “open profile”.
Instead of a pleated medium, WAM uses a filter element with a tubular cell structure. This prevents the formation of agglomerates, which hinder the passage of the liquid and reduce the effective filter surface. The high air permeability of the medium results in a low pressure difference and contributes to a more efficient cleaning of the filter surface. The polyTUBETM filter elements can be used with dry powders in a temperature range of -20°C +80°C (short peaks of up to 100°C are possible).
The polyTUBETM filter elements made it possible to develop a new silo top filter that is smaller in size in relation to its active filter surface. This should further reduce the energy consumption for the operation and cleaning of these dedusting systems. While many filter systems use compressed air to clean the filter elements, the SILOTOP polyTUBETM is equipped with the MECCANICA electromechanical pulse cleaning system. The absence of a compressed air line ensures savings in installation and compressed air supply costs. In comparison, mechanical cleaning also generates three times less operating noise and protects the filter medium.
Thanks to the compact design of the polyTUBE elements, the filter has a low housing, which makes accessibility and maintenance on the silo much easier.
WAM uses its own FILMEC electronic control system to control the cleaning system.
