The challenge at recycling centers is to distinguish a real fire hazard from an apparent one.
Otherwise, there would quickly be a “false” alarm – even due to a hot exhaust or reflections on bare surfaces.
Our monitoring system decides within seconds whether there is a real fire hazard. Only then does it trigger the alarm.
In the middle of a recycling yard, we simulated a developing fire, controlled in the fire pot. The camera now detects different objects, of which only one represents a real fire hazard at that moment.
This is exactly what the monitoring system distinguishes and triggers an alarm only for real fire hazards. However, it identifies the hot or reflective surfaces – after a check within seconds – as currently non-critical.
Since the system distinguishes deceptions from real fire hazards under all conditions, there is no need to set up separate day/night circuits. There is also no need to “exclude” travel routes from the monitoring area – the system is not irritated by the hot exhaust of a delivery vehicle.
This is optimal early fire detection – without false alarms, but with comprehensive safety.
