Introducing Optical Sorting
In January 2024 Eldan announced a co-ownership with Picvisa Machine Vision Systems, a front-runner in optical separation technology. This is a big leap forward to integrate optical sorting technology into the Eldan processes.
This has resulted in the development of new lines of sorting equipment. The first machines, the Eldan MPS (Multi Purpose Sorter) and the Eldan SPS (Small Purpose Sorter), were launched during Q2 this year.
Innovation for improvements
Eldan Recycling is constantly finding ways to meet the customer’s needs. The ELDAN Heavy Duty Granulator (HDG) is one of them. The HDG is designed and manufactured to process more and tougher, hard material like ACSR cables or e-waste with high Fe content. The HDG also performs well as a pre-chopper for these materials and other Cu or Al cables and can include various screen hole sizes down to 12mm and upwards, according to customer requirements.
A summary of the HDG features includes an adjustable knife clearance, which optimizes the cutting function and the product knives can be reground multiple times on a “flat-bed” grinder ensuring long life and low operation costs. The design allows quick and easy change of knives and screens and the rotor is manufactured and designed for minimum wear with hard-face welding. The screens provide different hole sizes for flexible production and five pieces of screens per set are included and interchangeable, depending on wear. Exchangeable wear parts provide operators with a virtually indestructible machine.
