Like in many industries, the competitive pressure is always rising in tire manufacturing and forces the manufacturer to realize cost reducing potential in procurement and production. One aspect of this is the continual optimization of the raw material procurement with the aim to be able to manufacture in a more flexible way.
This is what a well-known tire manufacturer was aiming for in a current project performed by our company regarding big bag systems where the raw material silica was exclusively ordered in large containers. To be able to be more flexible with smaller batches, the manufacturer wanted to also be able to handle big bags during the delivery of the raw goods.
What was planned was a combined device made from two big bag stations which allowed for the limited space in the production hall and gave the operating staff enough room to operate the device easily, safely and most importantly without producing dust.
